Getting
ready for summer fun and safety
In spite of strong winds June 1, the MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center hosted its fifth annual "Safety on Wheels" bike, inline skate and scooter safety event. Families from Chelsea and surrounding areas came to the health center to learn about summertime safety, enjoy ice cream treats and listen to musical entertainment. Approximately 180 children participated in a raffle to win one of four new bicycles. Every child who brought their bikes for a safety inspection by health center staff also received a free helmet. McGruff the Crime Dog and Polly Patches the clown also brought many smiles to the young participants. "It was another successful event this year," says Jeannette McWilliams, administrative director of MGH Chelsea. "Everyone had a great time, including our enthusiastic group of staff volunteers, who made it a great day for everyone."
