Date change for Buddhist meditation
The MGH Chaplaincy sponsors monthly Buddhist meditation sittings in the MGH Chapel on
Ellison 1. Sittings are normally held on the third Thursday of each month. The June
sitting, however, will be held on the fourth Thursday, June 22, 2 to 2:30 pm. All are
welcome to attend, and participants may freely come and go during the service. For more

Forum about
device regulation and reimbursement
The Center for Innovative Minimally Invasive Therapies (CIMIT) will host a forum about
device regulation and reimbursement June 13, 2 to 4 pm in the Wellman Conference Room.
Hugh Hill, MD, JD, of the U.S. Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) and acting
director of the Coverage and Analysis Group, will be the guest speaker. Hill is
responsible for national coverage decisions, a process that determines whether Medicare
will pay for a medical product or service. Hill will speak about the policy underlying
national coverage decisions, recent developments in the process and how HCFA approaches
new technologies. There will be time for questions from forum participants. For more

AMMP elections
The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) will hold elections for
executive offices July 13 in Bulfinch 222. The positions that are open are chairperson,
Public Relations chairperson and Membership chairperson. All members are encouraged to

Genetics of
blood pressure seminar
The Clinical Research Program will present "Molecular Genetics of Blood Pressure and
Electrolyte Homeostasis" as part of the Genomics Approaches to Common Diseases June
14, 4 to 5 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. The speaker, Richard P. Lifton, MD, PhD,
chairman of the Department of Genetics, Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the MGH, is one
of the world's leading human geneticists, having identified genes underlying multiple
inherited forms of altered blood pressure and electrolyte metabolism. Registration is

MGH Cancer
Center HOPES seminars
The MGH Cancer Center HOPES (Helping Our Patients/ Families through Education and Support)
program presents educational seminars for patients, families and MGHers. Drop-in yoga
classes will be offered June 8, 15, 22 and 29, noon to 1 pm. "Resuming Activity After
Abdominal Surgery," facilitated by Derek Munn, PT, of MGH Physical Therapy, will be
offered June 7, noon to 1 pm. All seminars are held in the Cancer Resource Room, Cox 1.

Revere road
race and health fair
The MGH Revere HealthCare Center presents the "Revere Moves Road Race and Health
Fair," June 10, 8:30 am on Revere Beach. Activities will include a 5-mile run, a 1K
fun run for children under 12 and a health fair. Proceeds from the event will benefit the
