Walking
in their shoes: Timilty students visit MGHers for Job Shadow Day MGHers find many challenges and many rewards when they
come to work each day. Sometimes a fresh set of eyes can help to fully appreciate the job
at hand. On May 22, a group of 26 MGH employees had the chance to see their jobs from a
new perspective, as students from the James P. Timilty Middle School visited the hospital
for Job Shadow Day. From monitoring surveillance cameras for Police and Security to covering a news beat for Public Affairs, each seventh grade student was paired with an MGH mentor who offered an in-depth glimpse of his or her role within the hospital. Students and employees also listened to a presentation about the historic Ether Dome, toured the main campus and dined together in the Eat Street Cafe.. Job Shadow Day, which is a citywide event, was coordinated by the MGH/Timilty Partnership in conjunction with MGH Community Benefits. |
