Employee Assistance Program lunchtime seminar
The MGH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will sponsor "Proactive Parenting," May 24, noon to 1 pm in the Larry Martin Conference Room at CNY Building 149. Trainer and consultant Lynn Reeves Griffin, RN, MEd, will discuss parenting elements such as discipline, conflict resolution and teaching values. Zervas Lecture
The second annual Nicholas T. Zervas, MD, Lecture will be held May 22, at noon in the Ether Dome. Lawrence A. Frohman, MD, head of the Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center, will present "Familial Pituitary Tumors: Clinical and Genetic Considerations." Support Service Employees Grant Program
The MGH Support Service Employees Grant Program now is accepting applications. All MGH support service employees who have worked at the hospital for at least two years, are benefits eligible and in good standing are encouraged to apply. Applications are available in the Human Resources offices on White 14 and at 75 Blossom Court and at CNY. Applications also may be obtained and individual questions may be answered at special sessions June 5, 2:30 to 4:30 pm, and June 15, 10 am to 2 pm, both in the Claflin Library. MGH Chelsea bike safety event
The MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center will sponsor its fourth annual "Safety-On-Wheels" event, June 2, noon to 3 pm in the health center parking lot, 151 Everett Ave. in Chelsea. Parents and children from 4 to 15 years old are invited to stop by to enjoy bicycle, rollerblade and helmet safety checks, a rodeo, bike raffle and more. The rain date is June 16. Summer job programs
Part-time summer help is available for all MGH departments this year through three MGH Community Benefits programs. SummerWorks 2001 is a career exploration and internship program for graduating eighth graders from the James P. Timilty Middle School. The Summer Enrichment Program is a seven-week program placing eighth- and ninth-grade students in nine-hour weekly internships. The Jobs for Boston Youth program provides SummerWorks program alumni and students from East Boston High School with job opportunities at the MGH as well. For more information, call (617) 726-8197.

Ascension Thursday service
In observance of Ascension Thursday, a Roman Catholic Holy Day of Obligation, an additional Mass will be offered May 24, 11 am in the MGH Chapel. The standard 4 pm Mass also will be held. For more information, contact the MGH Chaplaincy at (617) 726-2220.
