Patients receive
royal treatment Patients of MassGeneral Hospital for Children received a rare treat May 3, when they were visited by members of Queen for a Day — a national, nonprofit organization designed to raise the self-esteem and self-confidence of girls coping with serious illness. Current and former young patients enjoyed a well-deserved day of pampering with manicures, pedicures and overall beauty sessions from Queen for a Day staff members. The highlight of this special event occurred when each girl received her own tiara and sauntered down a homemade aisle to an awaiting throne in the Ellison 17 playroom where her picture was taken by her admirers. What made the crowning ceremony so special was that each tiara was donated by a beauty pageant title-holder.
