Vascular
Center creates radiology safety course
The MGH Vascular Center organized its first Radiology Safety course April
8 in the Trustees Room. Developed and coordinated by the Vascular Center's
Education Committee, this course is designed to give all employees of
the Vascular Center involved with radiation-related interventions practical
training in radiobiology, radiation protection of both patients and clinicians
and radiation monitoring.
"Radiologists have extensive training in this field during residency,
but other services that now use fluoroscopy-guided procedures do not have
organized radiation education," says James Rabinov, MD, of MGH Radiology
and a member of the Education Committee.
