Brain Aneurysm Awareness Week
Brain Aneurysm Awareness Week will be May 15 through 19. To raise awareness at the MGH, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will host an information table in the Main Lobby during that week. Foundation volunteers and MGH staff will be available to answer questions and provide information about brain aneurysms.

Women's Health Research Day conference
Harvard Medical School's Center of Excellence in Women's Health will present the first annual Women's Health Research Day Conference, May 25, from 2 to 6 pm. The keynote speaker will be JoAnn E. Manson, MD, professor of Medicine at HMS and chief of Preventive Medicine at BWH. A reception and poster presentations featuring the 1999 HMS Fund for Women's Health grant recipients will follow the conference. Women's health course
A course about women's health will be offered to Partners primary care physicians, June 1, 5:30 to 9 pm at BWH in the Bornstein Amphitheater. The program will involve lectures, a panel discussion and review of topics relevant to women's health. Advance registration is required by May 26. For more information, call 278-1058.

Partners annual reports
Partners annual reports are now available to MGH employees. They may be obtained at hospital information desks or by calling the MGH Public Affairs Office at 6-2206.

Weight management seminar
MGH Nutrition Services will offer its 10-week weight management class "Winning at the Losing Game," beginning May 9. Classes meet Tuesdays, 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The program includes nutrition education by a registered dietitian, an exercise program supervised by a physical therapist and martial arts instructor and behavior modification to assist with lifestyle change. The course costs $225 for MGH employees and is limited to 15 participants. To register or for more information, call 6-2799.

Kidney disease seminar
The Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Vermont chapters of the National Kidney Foundation and the Northeast Friends Chapter of the Polycystic Kidney Research Foundation will present "Polycystic Kidney Disease: Issues and Strides," April 29, 12:30 to 5:30 pm at the Marriott Hotel, 2 Cambridge Center, Cambridge. YouthCare fundraiser
The "Give Children a Chance" fundraising event will be held May 3, at 7 pm, Scullers Jazz Club in the Doubtletree Guest Suites Hotel in Boston. Proceeds from the event will benefit YouthCare at the MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center, a program that provides therapeutic after-school and summer activities for children with social, emotional and behavioral disabilities. The event will be hosted by Virginia Cha from WBZ-TV, Channel 4 and will feature the New Black Eagle Jazz Band. Tickets are $75. CRP seminar series
The Clinical Research Program will host the final lecture in the "Ethics in Clinical Research" series, May 17, noon to 1 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. Margaret Dale, JD, of the Harvard Medical School Office of Research Issues, will present "Research and Data Integrity," a discussion about the definition, oversight mechanisms and consequences of scientific misconduct, including fraudulent data entry. This lecture qualifies for 1.2 CEUs for nurses. Dessert and beverages will be provided. To register, call 6-1669 by May 15.
