MGH Secretarial and Clerical Support Staff Day
All MGH secretarial and clerical support staff are invited to attend the Secretaries Day luncheon and the Pamela J. Ellis Award presentation April 24, in the Bulfinch Tent. The luncheon begins at 11:30 am, followed by the award presentation at 12:15 pm. The celebration ends at 2 pm. This private luncheon is open only to MGH secretarial and clerical staff.

AMMP scholarship applications
The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) will offer educational scholarships to under-represented minority employees who have been accepted into academic or professional certificate programs for the fall or spring. The goal is to expand access to career opportunities at Partners by assisting minority employees in obtaining a professional certificate, associate's, bachelor's or master's degree. Scholarship recipients must commit to at least 20 service hours to AMMP during the following fiscal year. Scholarships will be awarded for up to $1,000. Applications are due by July 12. LSO performance
Jonathan McPhee, music director and interim artistic director of the Boston Ballet, will be guest conductor for the Longwood Symphony Orchestra, May 11, at 8 pm, at Jordan Hall. The concert will benefit the New England Hemophilia Association. The LSO performs four annual concerts at Jordan Hall that benefit health-related charities. Timilty Partnership offers summer employment
The MGH/Timilty Partnership will place Timilty Middle School students in departments that need additional part-time help for the summer. SummerWorks, is a career exploration/summer internship program for graduating eighth-graders. The program combines weekly interactive workshops with real work experience. Students spend 23 hours per week at the worksite. In addition, the MGH/Timilty Partnership is offering Jobs for Boston Youth, which is an alternative summer employment program that links SummerWorks alumni and students from the hospital's newly formed partnership with East Boston High School with job opportunities at the MGH. Institute commencement
The MGH Institute of Health Professions will celebrate its 22nd commencement ceremony May 4, at 2 pm, on the Quad of Harvard Medical School. James Carroll, noted author and winner of the National Book Award, will deliver the commencement address. For more information, contact Lillian Johnson at (617) 726-4276.

Free skin cancer screening
MGH Dermatology will offer free skin cancer screenings May 7, from 5 to 7 pm in WACC 481. Screenings are by appointment only. For more information, call Carolyn Catinazzo, skin cancer coordinator, at (617) 726-1869.

Brain Tumor Action Week
In recognition of Brain Tumor Action Week, May 5 to 11, the MGH Brain Tumor Center will host an information table in the White Lobby to raise awareness about brain tumor treatment. For more information, call Michele Lucas at (617) 726-6106.
