Book sales to benefit
Stoeckle Center Ben Lipson, a longtime MGH patient and Boston
Globe contributor, recently celebrated the publication of his book,
which focuses on the issues of choosing the right long-term care insurance.
The proceeds from the book, entitled J. K. Lasser's Choosing the Right
Long-Term Care Insurance, will benefit the Marjorie E. Lipson Memorial
Fund at the John D. Stoeckle Center for Primary Care at the MGH. The fund
promotes patient advocacy and patients' rights within health care and
is named for Lipson's daughter, who died at age 35 after a 20-year battle
with anorexia and bulimia. Guests at the official book launch party included
John Goodson, MD, Lipson's primary care physician, who also spoke, and
John D. Stoeckle, MD. Pictured above,
