Challenging
autism on the basketball court ![]() Hometown football favorite Doug Flutie (shown at left, with Alan Ezekowitz, MBChB, Dphil, chief of MGH Pediatrics, far left) hung up his cleatsand donned his gym sneakers for a special basketball tournament March 23 to benefit the LADDERS program at MassGeneral Hospital for Children. The third annual Full Court Charity Challenge, held at the Boston Recreational Complex, raised much-needed money for autism research and services. LADDERS (Learning and Developmental Disabilities Evaluation and Rehabilitation Services) provides evaluation and treatment of children and adults with autism. The event also raised money for the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation, which was established in honor of Flutie's son, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3. |
