Enter the race Get into PACE

It may not have been the Boston Marathon, but a marathon-themed open house offered some competitive fun for MGH employees involved with the Patient Administrative Cycle Enhancements (PACE) project. Complete with a starting line, pom poms and a winners' photo finish line, MGHers gathered in the Walcott Conference Rooms to learn about the project, which is designed to make patient administration a smoother process for both patients and employees.

Since the launch of PACE early last year, PACE teams (some members pictured above) have been working on redesigning the front-end administrative processes associated with outpatients, providing state-of-the-art technology to support these streamlined processes and ultimately providing a significant financial benefit to the hospital.

In an effort to educate employees, open-house sessions were developed to offer an opportunity to learn important information regarding the project in a fun and informal environment. At the first of three open houses held March 25, PACE team members were on hand to give information, guidance and encouragement to employees. Informational posters offered a general outline of the PACE project and what employees can expect in the months ahead. Although educational, the sessions also offered a bit of fun with refreshments, giveaways and raffles.

Additional open house sessions will take place April 1, from noon to 3 pm, and April 8, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm, also in the Walcott Conference Rooms. Employees need only about 20 minutes to go through the open house and garner all the information they need. All employees who are involved with PACE are welcome to attend.

For more information about the PACE project or to attend one of the open house sessions, send e-mail to PACEproject@partners.org.
