Research Program course offerings
The MGH Clinical Research
Program (CRP) and the Mallinckrodt General Research Center will co-sponsor
"Introduction to Clinical Investigation," April 3, 10, 19 and 24 and May 1, from
5 to 6 pm in the Bigelow Amphitheater on White 4. "Seminars in Biostatistics for
Clinical Investigators" will be held April 5, 12, 19 and 27, from 4 to 5 pm in the

Nursing diversity
presentation
The MGH Department of Nursing will present "Diversity Within
Cultures: Implications for Health Care," April 2, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm in the
O'Keeffe Auditorium. Participants will be awarded 7.8 contact hours. For more information

Schwartz Center Award
The Kenneth B. Schwartz Center currently is
accepting nominations for the annual Compassionate Caregiver Award. The award, supported
by Lilly Oncology, recognizes Massachusetts caregivers who display extraordinary kindness
in dealing with patients. The winner will receive $5,000. Nomination forms can be obtained
by calling 724-6416. Nominations must be received by April 9.
American Cancer
Society grants
The American Cancer Society will award the MGH four
institutional research grants for distribution to junior investigators involved in cancer
research. These grants will offer junior investigators up to $20,000 in seed money per
cancer research project for up to one year. All applications must be received by April 5.

Taste of the Town
The MGH Blood
Donor Center will sponsor a Taste of the Town event, March 27, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
at the center on Jackson 1. After giving blood or platelets, donors will be able to enjoy
samples from area restaurants and be eligible to have their names drawn for a $25 gift

In Vitro
Fertilization Unit workshop
The MGH Vincent In
Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Unit will sponsor Part I of a free "Psychospiritual
Healing and Infertility" workshop for couples and individuals, April 4, from 5 to
6:30 pmin the Meigs Conference Room. The workshop, presented by Robert McInnes, MD, a
reproductive endocrinologist, and Lucie McInnes, RN, will introduce energy healing
techniques to combat infertility. Part I of the workshop is a prerequisite for Part II,
