Blum Center celebrates third anniversary

The Maxwell and Eleanor Blum Patient and Family Learning Center (PFLC) at the MGH is celebrating its third anniversary throughout the month of March. Open to the public since 1999, the PFLC offers consumer health information services to MGH patients and their families. Staff and volunteers assist patrons with information searches on a variety of health-related topics. Patients and families have access to the Internet, e-mail, videos and journals, as well as pamphlets, brochures and consumer health and medical textbooks.

The children's area in the PFLC soon will be renovated to include computer access for children, an expanded children's health book collection and the addition of a wall pamphlet rack to house materials written for children.

MGHers, patients and visitors are invited to take a tour of the center March 29, from 10am to 3pm, and view a sampling of the educational materials and resources available to the MGH community. The center is located on the first floor of the White building.
