031700chcwpreview.jpg (9062 bytes)MassGeneral Hospital for Children will celebrate Children and HealthCare Week, March 20 through 24, with interactive and educational activities for children and families. In addition, the annual health fair, at which children can learn about health and safety, will be held March 22, 9 am to 5 pm on the Bulfinch lawn. This year's theme is "The States of Good Health."

March 20
Harvard Minuets, 1 to 2 pm, pediatric inpatient units

Clown troupe, 6:30 to 7:30 pm, pediatric inpatient units

March 21
Joint Pediatrics and Patient Care Services Grand Rounds, noon to 1 pm, O'Keeffe Auditorium, "Complementary Medicine — A Parent's Perspective"
Speaker: Deborah Rissotti, RN, parent of a 16-year-old girl with multiple medical challenges

R. Archer, magician, 2 to 3 pm, pediatric inpatient units

March 22
Children's Health Fair "The States of Good Health," 9 am to 5 pm, Bulfinch lawn

Children unable to attend the health fair will be entertained by the Celebration Shop Singers, Jim Newton and Paul Hill

Celebration Shop Singers free concert, 6 pm, WACC Lobby

March 23
Hurt Alert Day — day of pediatric awareness about pain initiative and strategies, all day throughout hospital

Clown troupe, 11 am to noon, pediatric inpatient units

Aquarium on the Road, 1 to 3 pm, pediatric inpatient units

Veritones a cappella group, 7 to 8 pm, pediatric inpatient units

March 24
Dan Grady, marionette, 11 am to noon, pediatric inpatient units

Family-centered Care Awards, 2 to 3 pm, Ellison 18 Day Room

All week
Art Fair, all day, Main Lobby — art designed by children from all over the state with the theme "Who or What Keeps Me Healthy or Safe?" will be displayed. Winners in each of three age groups will be announced March 31.

Graffiti Wall — patients can write or draw about coping with pain. This will be on display in the Main Lobby toward the end of the week.
