Sharing words of wisdom:
Renowned lecturer speaks on grief For five
years, the MGH Palliative Care
Services staff has been instrumental in treating patients with life-threatening
illnesses and their families. The team, comprised of specially trained physicians, nurses,
social workers, chaplains and volunteers, provide a welcome resource for MGH clinicians in
caring for such patients. To celebrate their fifth anniversary at the hospital, the
Palliative Care staff hosted a special presentation March 6 by renowned author and
lecturer, Rabbi Earl Grollman (at right).
An expert in bereavement and grief counseling, Grollman is well known for his books,
such as Talking about Death: A Dialogue between Parent and Child, and Living
when a Loved One has Died.
At the MGH presentation, Grollman gave advice about how to talk to children about dying
and death. |
