AMMP Women's History Month celebration
In celebration of Women's History Month, the Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) will host guest speaker Matina S. Horner, PhD, former president of Radcliffe College and currently executive vice president of the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF) March 14. Horner will present "Then and Now: Women Leading in a Male-Dominated World" from noon to 1:30 pm in the Bulfinch Trustees Room. Lunch will be served.

Clinical research coordinator seminar series
The MGH Clinical Research Program (CRP) will sponsor "Infection Control Principles and Practice in Clinical Research" March 13, from 11:45 am to 1 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. Robert Rigdon, BSN, RN, CIC, director of the MGH Infection Control Unit, will discuss standard precautions and infection control practices for handling specimens or performing phlebotomies. MGH Golf League
The MGH Golf League still is accepting members for the 2002 season. The league is planning five upcoming events this year and is open to all MGH and Partners employees. For more information or to become a member, contact Robert White at (617) 726-7833 or send e-mail to rfwhite@partners.org.

Blood Donor Center "Taste of the Town" event
Each Friday throughout the month of March, the MGH Blood Donor Center will serve lunch from local restaurants to all who donate blood between 11:45 am and 4:30 pm. The Blood Donor Center is located in the Gray Lobby. For more information or to make an appointment to donate, call the center at (617) 724-7499.

Call for Macaluso Award nominations
Nominations now are being accepted for the Stephanie M. Macaluso, RN, Excellence in Clinical Practice Award. The award recognizes direct care providers throughout MGH Patient Care Services whose practice exemplifies the expert application of values personified by the late Stephanie M. Macaluso, RN. Registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, speech and language pathologists, social workers and chaplains are eligible. Nomination forms are available in all patient care areas, in department offices and at the Gray Lobby information desk. All nominations must be received by April 5. Recipients will be announced in June. Awardees each will receive $1,500 to be applied toward a professional conference or course of their choice. For information, call Mary at (617) 724-5801.

General Medical Associates name change
The MGH General Medical Associates have changed their name to the Mass General West Medical Group. The group will continue to offer comprehensive primary care for families at two convenient locations: at Mass General West, 40 Second Ave. in Waltham, and at 275 Cambridge St. in Boston.
