Children and Healthcare Week Art Fair
The MGH will celebrate National Children and Healthcare Week April 24 to May 1. This year's theme is "2001 Health Odyssey." Pediatric patients, children of employees and students at local schools are invited to submit their artwork to the Children and Healthcare Week Art Fair. This year's art theme is "Who or What Keeps You Healthy and Safe." Art should be sent to the attention of: Child Life Specialist, 55 Fruit St., Ellison 17, Boston, MA 02114. Each entrant's name, age, school name and phone number must be written on the back of submissions. Please note that artwork will not be returned. The deadline for Art Fair submissions is April 20. All artwork will be on display in the Main Corridor throughout the week's activities. For more information, contact Mary Lou Kelleher, RN, MS, at 724-5720.

Research conference
"Recruiting Minority Women into Clinical Research Trials: The Intersection of Race, Ethnicity, Gender, Community and Academia" will be held March 9, 7:30 am to 4 pm at the Inn at Longwood Medical. The conference is sponsored by the MGH's Mallinckrodt General Clinical Research Center, the Harvard Medical School's Center of Excellence in Women's Health and the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Risk Reduction Program. Featured presenters will include researchers from within and outside the Harvard system and women representatives of Boston minority communities. Timilty Science Fair Showcase
Students participating in the MGH/Timilty Partnership Science Fair Mentoring Program will display their posters in the ninth annual Science Fair Showcase, March 9, 9 to 11 am in the Main Corridor and in the CNY Building 149 Atrium. Nursing career expo
The MGH Nursing and Human Resources departments will host a Staff Nurse Career Expo, March 11, noon to 4 pm in the North and East Garden Dining Rooms. Nurse managers, nurse educators and Human Resources staff will be on hand to discuss various career opportunities for staff nurses at the MGH. At the same time and in the same location, the Center for Clinical and Professional Development for Patient Care Services will offer two continuing education sessions: "Informed Consent: Ethical Considerations," presented by Ellen Robinson, RN, PhD, from 1 to 2 pm; and "Mechanical Support of the Failing Heart," presented by Mimi O'Donnell, RN, MS, CS, from 3 to 4 pm. Participants will be awarded 1.2 contact hours for each session. Refreshments and free parking will be provided. Women's History Month celebration
The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) will host a guest speaker in celebration of Women's History Month. E. Lorraine Baugh, former MGH trustee, will present "Phenomenal Woman," March 8, noon to 1:30 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. Lunch will be served.

MGH College/Career Fair
The MGH and Partners HealthCare will host a college/career fair for outpatient practice and ancillary support staff, March 21, 11:30 am to 6 pm at Partners Training, 185 Charles River Plaza. Representatives from several colleges will be present to answer questions about certificate and degree programs, admission requirements and financial aid. Human Resources staff also will be on hand to talk about job opportunities at the MGH and the training needed to qualify for specific jobs, as well as tuition reimbursement and MGH scholarship programs.
