Senior HealthWISE seminar
The MGH Senior HealthWISE program will offer "Hearty Matters: Lessons in Caring for the Health of Your Heart" March 2, from 11 am to noon in the Walcott Conference Rooms. Kate Traynor, RN, MSN, program director for the MGH Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, will present an overview about heart disease and new trends in treatment. Bloomingdale's shopping day
Bloomingdale's at Chestnut Hill and the MGH Vincent Obstetrics and Gynecology Service will offer a shopping day to MGHers on March 3. Tickets are $10 and entitle shoppers to discounts of 15 percent on nearly everything in the store. All money from the ticket sales will go directly to support MGH Vincent research endeavors. Biostatistics seminars
The Clinical Research Program is sponsoring "Problem-based Biostatistics Seminars for Physiologic Investigators." Seminars will be held in the Walcott Conference Rooms March 9, 16, 23 and 30, from 3:30 to 5 pm. The seminar series is intended for physiologic investigators who have moderate or substantial statistical experience. The goal of the seminars is to demonstrate alternative statistical approaches to questions explored by physiologic investigators. Registration is required and must be received by March 2. National Patient Safety Awareness Week
The MGH Office of Quality and Patient Safety is recognizing National Patient Safety Awareness Week March 7 to 13. Posters will be located throughout the Main Corridor focusing on "The Five Steps to Safer Health Care." For more information, call (617) 724-0324.

EAP training
Throughout the year, the MGH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will offer training courses for managers and supervisors about using the EAP as a resource to assist with behavioral health, mental health and substance abuse concerns. The next training session will be offered March 2, from 8 to 9:30 am in the Burr 3 Conference Room. Additional sessions will be held May 4, July 22, Sept. 7 and Nov. 2. National Women's Month presentation
The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners in honor of National Women's Month will sponsor "Women — Inspiring Hope and Possibility" March 11, from noon to 1 PM, in the Trustees Room, Bulfinch 225A. The guest speaker will be Jeanette Ives Erickson, RN, MS, senior vice president for MGH Patient Care Services and chief nurse.
