Harvard forum
The Harvard Eating Disorders Center at the MGH will sponsor a public forum on body image, culture and the media Feb. 24, from 7 to 9 pm at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in the Gutman Library. Panel participants will include actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler from HBO's "The Sopranos" and Abby Gardner, beauty director for YM Magazine. The event is free. Memorial service
A memorial service for Ann Stodolnic, RN, an MGH nurse, will be held Feb. 27, at 7:30 am in the MGH Chapel, with a reception immediately following in the Trustees Room. Stodolnic died Nov. 2. All MGH colleagues and friends are invited to attend.

Black History Month event
Gerald R. Reed, immediate past president of Blacks in Government and chief of Information Services at the Pentagon in Washington, will be the guest speaker at the Association of Multicultural Members of Partners Black History Month event. The event will be held Feb. 24, from noon to 1 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium, with a reception immediately following in Bulfinch 222. Reed's address will be based on the national Black History Month theme for 2003, "The Souls of Black Folks, Centennial Reflections." For more information, call (617) 724-0928.

Blood donations needed
Because of an increased need for blood components, the MGH Blood Donor Center would like to encourage MGHers to donate blood. Blood donations are at an all-time low, and there is an urgent need for donations. The Blood Donor Center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Bloomingdale's shopping day
Bloomingdale's department store at Chestnut Hill and the MGH Vincent Obstetrics and Gynecology Service will offer a shopping day to MGHers March 5. Tickets are $10 and entitle the shopper to discounts of 15 percent on nearly everything in the store. All money from the ticket sales will go directly to support Vincent research. HAZMAT drill
The MGH will be participating in a citywide hazardous material (HAZMAT) response drill Feb. 27. Sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the citywide drill will involve 10 Boston hospitals, including the MGH, the Boston Fire Department and other local emergency response agencies. The drill is part of a larger program called the Comprehensive HAZMAT Emergency Response Capabilities Assessment Program (CHER-CAP). The hospital's HAZMAT teams and other key employees will be responding to the drill, and the hospital's HAZMAT tent that will be set up in front of the main entrance to the hospital. Timilty Science Fair showcase
Students participating in the MGH/Timilty Partnership Science Fair Mentoring Program will display their posters in the ninth annual Science Connection Showcase March 4, from 9 to 11 am in the Main Corridor. Longwood Symphony Orchestra concert
Join the Longwood Symphony Orchestra March 8 at 8 pm for a concert to benefit the New England Hemophilia Association. The medical staff ensamble will present an all-French program featuring Alexandra Montano, mezzo soprano and a world premier by Christopher Culpo.
