Mentoring presentation
The MGH Multicultural Affairs Office and Office for Women's Careers will sponsor "The Dynamics of Mentoring and Being Mentored," a special presentation featuring Joan Reede, MD, MPH, MS, dean for Diversity and Community Partnership at Harvard Medical School, Feb. 27, at noon in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. PCS departments move
Last week, several MGH Patient Care Services (PCS) departments moved to the Gray Basement, Room 015, next to the Gray elevators. Those departments are: PCS Information Systems, Caring Headlines Story Office, Office of Quality and Safety, OR Clinical Nurse Specialists and PCS Management Systems. All phone numbers remain the same.

Partners International Office tax sessions
The Partners International Office will sponsor three tax information sessions, designed to provide important information for international employees about tax laws, during the next two months . The sessions will be held March 8, from 2 to 5 pm in the Wellman Conference Room at the MGH, and Feb. 22 and April 5, from 2 to 5 pm at Bornstein Auditorium, BWH. YouthCare fundraising event
YouthCare – a therapeutic program based at MGH Charlestown that serves children with social, emotional and behavioral disabilities– will hold its annual "Give Children a Chance" fundraising event – sponsored by Liberty Mutual and Deloitte & Touche – Feb. 21. A pre-show reception will take place at 7:30 pm at the Charles Hotel, featuring master of ceremonies Dixie Whatley of WCVB-TV, Channel 5. A jazz show starring renowned jazz saxophonist Branford Marsalis will be held at 10 pm at the Regattabar. Tickets are $75. For more information, contact Sylvia Kristal at (617) 724-8241.

Clinical Research Program offerings
The MGH Clinical Research Program (CRP) will sponsor "Conducting Clinical Research Studies," a training seminar for clinical research coordinators with less than six months of experience, Feb. 28, from 8:30 am to 5 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. Lorraine Ellis, MS, MBA, president of Research Dynamics, will provide instruction in the basic duties of research coordinators involved in investigational drug or device studies. The CRP also will offer "From Bench to Bedside: The Difference Between Research and Clinical Genetics," the third in a series of genetics lectures for research coordinators, Feb. 27, from noon to 1 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. Catherine Bove, MEd, RN, of the MGH Molecular Neurogenetics Unit, will discuss the differences between clinical and research genetics and how genetic information is managed in both settings.
