  • Research at MGH, growing by leaps and bounds
    The continuing growth of the MGH research enterprise was clearly on display during the hospital's annual research symposium and poster session Feb. 4. MGH investigators presented 134 posters — a record number — and 13 of the presentations were named posters of distinction.
  • Head of CDC visits MGH
    With the recent onslaught of infectious illnesses that have affected the United States and countries abroad, a recent visit from the director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at the MGH was a welcomed one.
  • Protecting MGHers: Smallpox response plan developed
    Hospitals must be ready to deal with whatever health care crises may arise — even when the risk is small. That's why planning, preparing and protecting have long been the cornerstones of ensuring a safe hospital environment for patients, families, employees and the entire community.
  • Black History Month recognized at the MGH
    The MGH marked the beginning of Black History Month with a special celebration of diversity Feb. 2 in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. During the celebration, entitled "Resilience: The Heart of the African American Spirit," five MGHers were honored for their contributions to furthering diversity and excellence at the MGH during a Patient Care Services Pinning Ceremony.
  • MGHers dream of warmer days
    Spring is only six weeks away, and in celebration of warmer days to come, the Eat Street Cafe sponsored "Destination — 85 Degrees" Feb. 6.
