In General The Treadwell Library and MGH Community Health Associates have been awarded a grant from the National Library of Medicine to deliver electronic health information to four Boston communities. The MGH will collaborate with local organizations to create a Health Resource Center that will provide online health care information for area residents. MGH librarians will train outreach workers and staff from the MGH community health centers to assist community residents and organizations to access health information through the Internet. Kitty Bowman, director of MGH Revere CARES (Community Awareness Resources and Education to Stop Substance Abuse) coalition, was awarded the Community Health Award by the Medical Foundation. This award was presented at the foundation's annual meeting Jan.10 at the John Hancock Conference Center in Boston. The Medical Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to health promotion and resources. |
