teens present science projects with MGH researchers Their booth was the first stop in a room crowded with some of the best researchers in the country. Elite scientists from the MGH filtered by, scrutinizing their poster displays with the keen eye of years of experience. The four individuals were prepared for probing questions and constructive critique — and none of them yet have their driver's license.
These four science proteges are students at the Timilty Middle School. They came to the MGH Jan. 31 to present their science projects at the annual poster presentation of the MGH Scientific Advisory Committee. Sixth graders Imani Bryan and Claudia Tenen, along with eighth graders Anita DeAndrade and Christine Vong, had worked hard on their projects since November in preparation for the annual Timilty Science Fair, when they were singled out to present their projects at the MGH. "This is a great opportunity for these four girls to experience firsthand what it is like to present your thoughts and ideas to the rest of the world," says Robert Cho, Science Connection program manager with the MGH Timilty Partnership. "We are very proud of all of our students." MGHers are invited to see some of the Timilty Science Fair projects at the Science Connection Showcase March 9, 9 to 11 am in the MGH Main Corridor and at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
