New incoming chief of Neurosurgery

Robert Martuza, MD, has been named chief of Neurosurgery at the MGH, succeeding Nicholas Zervas, MD, who has served as chief of the service since 1977.

Martuza comes to the MGH Feb. 8 from Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, where he served as chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery for nine years. The MGH is familiar territory for Martuza, who completed his internship and residency at the hospital and served in the Neurosurgery Department and the MGH Brain Tumor Center for 11 years.
