SAC meeting and research symposium

The annual meeting of the MGH Scientific Advisory Committee — a group of distinguished researchers who advise the hospital on research policy — will get under way with the annual poster session for MGH researchers in the Wellman 1 Conference Room Feb. 5, from 11:30 am to 2 pm. Later that afternoon, activities will move to O'Keeffe Auditorium where SAC member Wylie Vale, PhD, of the Salk Institute, will discuss stress hormones. Also making scientific presentations will be the new MGH research center directors Brian Seed, PhD, and David Scadden, MD, along with James Gusella, PhD, director of the MGH Molecular Neurogenetics Unit.

On Feb. 6, the SAC 55th annual meeting will be held in the Wellman Conference Room. In addition to reviewing the current state of MGH research, the session will address research coordination with Partners, the new research centers and faculty issues. All members of the MGH community are welcome at this session, which runs 8:20 am to 12:15 pm and from 1:15 to 3 pm.
