  • The iBridge project: Launch in February
    The iBridge project, which is a web-based human resources, payroll and timekeeping software system, will be launched hospitalwide in February. Supervisors and managers then will have desktop access to human resources and payroll information at their Partners workstations.
  • AMMP honors Martin Luther King legacy
    The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) hosted a program of musical, personal and spiritual reflection on the life and legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., Jan. 18.
  • Bowditch Award recognizes excellence, experience
    The annual Nathaniel Bowditch Award, created two years ago to recognize those who have made significant contributions to improving the quality of care while reducing costs, was presented last week at a luncheon honoring the nominees.
  • Gottlieb selected as new president of BWH
    Seasoned academic leader and hospital executive Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA, has been chosen to succeed Jeffrey Otten as president of Brigham and Women's Hospital. In addition to serving as president of BWH, Gottlieb also will assume the presidency of Brigham and Women's/Faulkner Hospitals (BW/F) and will serve as a member of the BWH and BW/F Boards of Trustees.
  • Annual MGH research meeting, symposium and poster session
    The MGH research community will host its annual Scientific Advisory Committee meeting, including its annual research symposium and poster session, early next month. The 26th annual MGH Research Symposium will be held Feb. 6. The poster session, which runs from noon to 2 pm in the Wellman Conference Room, will feature 67 posters shown by MGH researchers.
  • MGH launches mercury containment initiative
    Mercury--best known as the silver liquid found in thermometers--is a toxic compound that can cause damage to the central nervous system and induce other serious illnesses. For years, the MGH has been working with authorities to reduce the amount of mercury that is inadvertently discharged into waste water by substituting products and disposing of mercury-containing materials as separate hazardous waste.
