School-age vacation club
The MGH
Backup Child Care Center will offer a school-age vacation club, Feb.
18 to 21, for employees' children from kindergarten completion to 12 years
old. Reservations will be taken only by phone beginning Jan. 24, and a
payment of $225 per child must be received by Jan. 31. Cost includes morning
and afternoon snacks, all field trip and entertainment fees, art supplies,
materials and activities. No part-time slots are available. For more information,

Black History Month event
Gerald R. Reed, immediate past president of Blacks In Government (BIG)
and chief of Information Services at the Pentagon in Washington, DC, will
be the guest speaker at the Association
of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) Black History Month event.
The event will be held Feb. 24, from noon to 1 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium
with a reception immediately following in Bulfinch 222. Reed's address
will be based on the national Black History Month theme for 2003, "The
Souls of Black Folks, Centennial Reflections." For more information,

CRP seminar
The Clinical
Research Program (CRP) will present a clinical research coordinator
seminar Feb. 12, from noon to 1 pm in the Wellman 101 Conference Room.
Kay Ryan and Jamien Richardson from the CRP will discuss the services
of the Clinical Research Support Office for investigators and study staff.
Karen Walsh from Accounts Payable will explain the correct procedure for
completing check request forms. Lunch will be provided. For more information,

Bloomingdale's shopping day
Bloomingdale's department store at Chestnut Hill and the MGH
Vincent Obstetrics and Gynecology Service will offer a shopping day
to MGHers on March 5. Tickets are $10 and entitle shoppers to discounts
of 15 percent on nearly everything in the store. All money from the ticket
sales will go directly to support MGH Vincent research endeavors. For

PACE contest
In an ongoing effort to educate MGHers about the new Patient Administrative
Cycle Enhancements (PACE) program, PACE has developed a contest to help
MGHers beome more involved. The program is looking for a name for the
new PACE contact center and is asking employees for help. Employees can
submit name ideas to the PACE website at PACEProject@partners.org.
The deadline for all entries is Jan. 31. Department names that are currently
used at the MGH will not be considered.
