The influx of information about human genetics and genomics is creating new opportunities for clinical research, but also raises questions regarding the protection of the rights of research participants. This presentation will review some major issues involved in the protection of human subjects in genetics and genomics research, including defining genetic testing and genetics/genomics research, returning research results, consent of family members, as well as DNA and tissue banking. Registration is recommended. To register, visit the CRP website at www.crnet.mgh.harvard.edu. For more information, call Marilyn Trinidad at (617) 726-5010.
