Sticks and skates to support the United Way

In support of the 2002 MGH United Way campaign, some of MGH's finest will take to the ice for a celebrity hockey game to raise money for the charity.

The celebrity hockey event will pit a team of MGH hockey players against members of the "Black and Gold Legends" — a team of former Boston Bruins players — in a friendly competition.

The game will take place Feb. 7 at 8 pm at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Mass. Tickets are $15 in advance and are available at the Warren Library, Monday through Friday, from 1 to 3 pm, and also at the cashier's office at CNY. Tickets also will be available at the door the night of the event for $20. All MGHers are invited to attend to root for their team while raising money for the United Way.

An important aspect of the United Way campaign is that a percentage of the money raised beyond the projected goal goes directly back to the hospital in the form of a donation to MGH Social Services. For more information, contact David Read at (617) 724-0361.
