In General Four MGH cardiologists recently were recognized at the 2003 American Heart Association meeting held in November. Roman DeSanctis, MD, received the Laennec Master Clinician Award from the Council of Clinical Cardiology. Greg Lewis, MD, won the Laennec Society Young Clinical Investigator Award. Claudia Chae, MD, won a Best Abstract Award for "Heart rate predicts progression of asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction." Donald Lloyd-Jones, MD, won a Best Abstract Award for "Lifetime risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease by risk factor levels at age 50." Nancy Tarbell, MD, director of the MGH Office for Women's Careers, has been recognized by Congressman Barney Frank as a "Local Legend" from Massachusetts. This honor is bestowed upon women physicians who have demonstrated commitment, originality, innovation or creativity in her field of medicine. |
