Conference room named for Cassem

The MGH Department of Psychiatry recently recognized Ned Cassem, MD, former chief of MGH Psychiatry, by naming a conference room in his honor. Colleagues, friends and students gathered in the Trustees Room for a reception to thank and pay tribute to Cassem (at left with Mongan). James J. Mongan, MD, president and CEO of Partners; Peter L. Slavin, MD, president of the MGH; Gary Gottlieb, MD, president of BWH; Jeannette Ives Erickson, RN, senior vice president for Patient Care Services and chief nurse; and Jerrold Rosenbaum, MD, current chief of MGH Psychiatry, spoke about Cassem's commitment to patient care, teaching and research at the MGH and the leadership he has provided to the hospital in creating the first ethics consultation committee to focus on complex and difficult end-of-life decisions. The reception concluded with tours of the Ned H. Cassem, SJ, MD, Conference Room, which is located on Warren 6.
