MGH Cancer Center combines art appreciation with
holiday celebration
Visitors to the MGH Hematology/Oncology Outpatient Unit and Gynecologic Oncology Center in the Cox building Dec. 13 were treated to a double dose of holiday magic: the festive MGH Cancer Center Holiday Open House and the latest Illuminations art exhibit. Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and beverages while admiring the multifaceted collection of artwork on display.
From left, Mary Anne Fallon, LPN, of the MGH Genitourinary Oncology Clinical Research Program; Bruce Chabner, MD, clinical director of the MGH Cancer Center; and his wife, Davi-Ellen Chabner, enjoy the evening. Illuminations is a rotating art exhibit housed in the Cancer Center. Each display — consisting of pieces submitted by local artists and representing several artistic disciplines — is featured for one season. Works are selected for their capacity to educate and inspire, and the exhibit is meant to provide enlightenment and encouragement to Cancer Center patients, families, staff and friends. The current Illuminations artists — including several MGHers — are: Brian Fitzgibbon; Robin Jones; Karen Kosko; Wendy Mimran; John Monteiro; Bud Turner; Robert van de Graaff, of MGH Development; Charyl Weissbach, of MGH Clinical Pathology; Bess Woodworth; and Rafael Zabala, of MGH Radiology. For more information about Illuminations, contact Joelle Reed at (617) 726-2689. |
