Santa's special delivery
Christmas came early this year for a number of young cancer patients at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children. On Dec.17, children receiving treatment at the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit, the Francis H. Burr Proton Therapy Center, and Ellison 17 and 18 were treated to a surprise visit from Santa Claus — otherwise known as Kevin Raskin, MD, of MGH Orthopædics — who delivered more than 50 holiday gift bags donated by Linda Comeau and Crystal Moore, also of MGH Orthopædics. The bags were stuffed to the brim with toys, gift cards, hats, scarves and other treats donated by Orthopædics staff and other departments including Radiology, Nutrition and Food Services, and the MGH Gift Shop. The delivery has become a much-anticipated annual tradition for the Orthopædics staff, who celebrated their third year of deliveries this year.
