The American Society of Nephrology (ASN) has named Changli Wei, MD, PhD, of the MGH Nephrology Division, a recipient of the 2007 Halpin Foundation-ASN Research Grant. The grant, worth $100,000 per year for two years, is awarded to young faculty to foster the development of an independent research career. Wei is an instructor of Medicine in the laboratory led by Joren Reiser, MD, PhD, also of MGH Nephrology.

Debra Weinstein, MD, vice president for Graduate Medical Education at Partners HealthCare and member of the MGH Gastrointestinal Unit, was one of four new members elected to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Board of Directors. The ACGME is a private, nonprofit organization that accredits 8,200 residency programs in 126 specialties and subspecialties that educate more than 100,000 residents across the country.
