Winterfest
fun
The
MassGeneral Hospital for Children's Hematology and Oncology Department
rang in 2007 in style with its annual Winterfest Jan. 7. More than 250
people attended the festivities at the Holiday Inn on Blossom Street,
organized for the department's immediate community by its caregivers.
The fun included face painting, caricature artists, chair massages and
cookie decorating. Friends, family members, caregivers, staff and patients
of all ages — from babies to teenagers —attended the party.
Highlights included a
professional magician, a raffle in which prizes were awarded to 20 different
families, and a visit from Frosty the Snowman and his helpers Mickey Mouse
and "Beauty and the Beast's" Belle, who delivered gifts to the
patients. Ice cream sundaes were provided by Cold Stone Creamery, and
a good time was had by all.
