Partners Telemedicine symposium
Partners Telemedicine will host its annual symposium "Connected Health - Empowering Care Through Communications Technologies" Sept. 18 and 19 at the Harvard Medical School Conference Center on Avenue Louis Pasteur. Interactive sessions, workshops and panel discussions will focus on the application of new health care communications technologies. Office for Visitor Education Programs seminars
The MGH Office for Visitor Education Programs is currently developing the 2006 Fall/Winter calendar and encourages MGH departments that can offer the knowledge and expertise of its staff on current cutting-edge technologies to participate in public forums. Senior HealthWISE events
The MGH Senior HealthWISE lecture series will offer "Low Vision and Aging" Aug. 3, from 11 am to noon in the Walcott Conference Rooms. Andrea Schein, of the Bridge Elder Blind Program, will be the guest speaker. Senior HealthWISE also will sponsor a "Healthy Tips for Summer Sun" discussion group Aug. 7, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the Hill House, 127 Mt. Vernon St., Boston. Topics covered will include skin protection, proper hydration and other seasonal information. Free blood pressure checks also will be available. For more information, call (617) 724-6756.

Women in Medicine Month lecture
In honor of Women in Medicine Month, the MGH Office for Women's Careers will host "The Role of Women in Health Care Policy" Sept. 6, from noon to 1:30 pm in the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, Suite B, Room 10660. Regina E. Herzlinger, the Nancy R. McPherson Professor of Business Administration at Harvard University, will be the guest speaker. Registration is required.
