MGH Cancer Center raises awareness of men's cancers Hundreds of passersby received potentially lifesaving cancer awareness information at the MGH's annual Men's Cancer Awareness Fair June 16 under the Bulfinch Tent. Hosted by the MGH Cancer Center, the event attracted men and women alike, including MGH staff, volunteers, patients and visitors. Guests had the opportunity to learn about the kinds of cancers common to men, including prostate cancer and lung cancer. Colorful displays and educational pamphlets provided helpful information about early detection, prevention, and traditional and alternative types of therapies such as acupuncture and massage. Clinicians were on hand to answer questions, and a dietitian was available to discuss good nutrition and tips for living a healthy lifestyle. Participants also had the chance to enter a raffle and enjoy live harp music. For more information about the Cancer Center, call (617) 724-4000. |
