World-renowned oncologist speaks at the MGH Steven A. Rosenberg, MD, PhD, chief of Surgery at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and professor of Surgery at the federal Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, was the guest speaker at the MGH Surgical Grand Rounds May 4, where he discussed the advances he and his group at the NCI have made in using biological therapies to help a patient's immune system fight cancer. A world-renowned oncologist, Rosenberg is the recipient of numerous national and international awards, including the Karnofsky Prize — the highest honor given by the American Society of Clinical Oncology — and the 2006 American Surgical Association Medallion of Scientific Achievement.
