Everyone
is a winner with the United Way campaign
While the real winners of the 2005 MGH United Way campaign are the people
who will be served by the nearly $336,000 raised to date, many MGHers
received prizes in a number of raffles held for employees who pledged
to the campaign. The weekly raffles featured a variety of prizes, including
gift certificates to area restaurants and shops, tickets to Patriots football
games and eight hours of earned time. Early donors Christie James of the
Professional Billing Office for the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization,
and Tanya Tran of MGH Psychiatry, were the big winners at the campaign
kick-off event Oct. 25. James won a 32-inch, high-definition TV while
Tran won an autographed Deion Branch football. In November, the end of
the campaign was announced with two additional grand-prize winners —
Marianne Beninato, PhD, from the MGH Institute of Health Professions,
was the winner of an autographed Tom Brady Patriots jersey, and Cordula
Magee from MGH Radiology, received a vacation package including a hotel
stay, two days of earned time and a $100 American Express gift check.
Employees who have not yet made a donation still have time to help the
MGH reach its goal. To make a donation or to learn more about the campaign,
