Surgery awards shining STARS
"STAR" employees from MGH
Surgery were honored at the third annual STAR — Surgery Tribute
and Recognition — luncheon held Nov. 29 as thanks for shining performances
throughout the department. The peer-nominated STAR program recognizes
nonphysician employees in the department for their outstanding work, commitment
and contributions.
The recipients for fiscal year 2005 were Ruthellen McKinnon; Linda Inserra;
Lynn Devaney, RN; Margaret Wilkie; Jennifer Finn, RN; Lois Parker; Shelia
Cann, RN; Amanda Savage, RN; Crystal Holland, RN; Cynthia Gougian; Pearlie
Traylor and the Trauma Registry staff — Laurie Petrovick, Amanda
Droste and Ingrid Howard.
Gary Smith, administrative director of Research for MGH Surgery; Andrew
Warshaw, MD, MGH surgeon-in-chief; and Debra Doroni, executive administrative
director for MGH Surgery, applauded the recipients. "The work you
do makes a difference, and we recognize your commitment to the department's
mission," said Warshaw.
Nominations for the 2006 STAR program are welcomed from anyone who has
experienced excellent service or outstanding work from a Department of
Surgery employee. To obtain a nomination form, send e-mail to dbanerji@partners.org
