No smoking policy reminder

The MGH community is reminded that smoking is prohibited at all locations owned or otherwise under the control of the hospital. This applies to all individuals on hospital premises, including hospital employees, professional staff members, patients, visitors, vendors and guests. Smoking is only allowed in the following designated smoking booths located around the main campus:

• beside the entrance to the Fruit Street Garage;
• on Blossom Street between the Jackson Lobby and the loading dock driveway; and
• in the WACC valet parking lot beside the bike cage.

"It is important to realize that we as employees are empowered and expected to help enforce the smoking policy by reminding individuals about the designated outside smoking locations," says Philip Stewart of MGH Police and Security. "It may not be easy, but it is important for the health, safety and comfort of all who use our facilities."
