Information Central to keep MGHers in the know

On Oct. 1, the MGH introduced a new poster display system meant to standardize the way information posters are viewed in the Main Corridor. Posters will be placed in two display cases located on the columns in the Main Corridor near Coffee Central. The new display cases — called Information Central — will give all departments and committees an equal opportunity to present their posters to the MGH community. Information Central will replace the use of easels in the Main Corridor, which can be a safety hazard for passersby. Below are guidelines to displaying posters at Information Central:

  • To maximize space in the display cases, posters must be smaller than 24 inches wide by 36 inches high with flexible backing to conform to the column display cases. Posters with foam core backing will not be accepted.
  • Posters may be used to announce meetings, programs, memorial services or other hospital events.
  • Posters may be displayed on a space-available basis for one to two weeks at a time.
  • Posters must be approved and stamped by Human Resources, located on Bulfinch 3.
  • Approved posters should then be brought to the Volunteer Services Office on Clinics 143 to be displayed by Volunteer staff.
  • Easels will no longer be allowed in the Main Corridor but can be used in the WACC lobby and other lobbies. Posters also can continue to be displayed in the main corridor if hung by Buildings and Grounds staff in the appropriate locations.

For more information, call the Volunteer Department staff at (617) 726-8540 or send e-mail to Pat Rowell at prowell@partners.org. For poster production assistance, call the MGH Photo Lab at (617) 726-2237.
