Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Center open house
The MGH Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Center will be hosting an open house for all interested staff Oct. 6, from noon to 3 pm at 25 New Chardon St., Suite 301. The center includes the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, the Heart Attack Primary Prevention Program and the Cardiac Metabolic Syndrome Program. Healthy snacks, a tour of the facility and relaxation classes will be available. There also will be a chance to win an Apple iPod Shuffle. MGH main campus conference room request change
Beginning Oct. 3, the new e-mail address for MGH main campus conference room requests will be maincampusconfrooms@partners.org. The Yawkey Center conference room request e-mail will remain the same, ymgh@partners.org. For questions or more information, call (617) 726-2445.

POPPS fair
Police, Security, Outside Services, Photography and Parking (POPPS) will host its annual crime prevention and safety fair "Protecting You in this Changing World" Sept. 29, from 11 am to 3 pm under the Bulfinch tent. A variety of demonstrations, displays and tables for all age groups will feature topics such as identity theft, crime prevention and safety tips. All entries from the eighth annual photo contest will be on display. The event also will feature free raffle drawings.

Psychiatry Grand Rounds
The next Psychiatry Grand Rounds "Religion, Spirituality and Mental Health: History, Research and Application" will be held Sept. 30, from 8:30 to 9:30 am in the Ether Dome. Harold G. Koenig, MD, professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University Medical Center, will be the guest speaker.

Nursing career expo
MGH Patient Care Services Human Resources will host a nursing career expo Sept. 25, from noon to 3 pm in the North and East Garden Dining Rooms. Learn about and interview for staff nurse (new graduates and experienced), clinical nurse specialist and nurse manager opportunities. Domestic violence education and support group
The Employee Assistance Program is offering a confidential, 10-week education and support group for all female employees of Partners HealthCare who have been affected by domestic violence, either in past or current relationships. The first meeting will be held Oct. 6, from 4:30 to 6 pm. Weekly discussions will help members understand the impact of domestic violence in their lives and the lives of their children while promoting individual strength and healing. MGH Chaplaincy observes Jewish High Holy Days
The MGH Chaplaincy will hold services Oct. 3, from 10:30 to 11 am as part of Yamim Nora'im 5766 — the Jewish High Holy Days 2005. Challah, grape juice and snacks will be served. For more information, call (617) 724-3228.
