Increasing ovarian cancer awareness

The MGH Cancer Center, the Ovarian Cancer Education Awareness Network (OCEAN) at the MGH, the Massachusetts Division of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Inc. (NOCC) and the M. Patricia Cronin Foundation to Fight Ovarian Cancer, Inc., all share the common goal of increasing awareness about ovarian cancer. The four organizations marked their fourth annual public awareness campaign by honoring ovarian cancer survivors at the inaugural Teal Ribbon Awards held Sept. 15 at the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care. The awards were given to John and Mary Magnan for their efforts to increase awareness and support of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer through John's art exhibit "Body Image/Body Essence" and to Barbara O'Brien, president of NOCC, for her tireless work as an advocate for ovarian cancer awareness.
