MGH
Chelsea physician receives
top honor
Tom Sterne, MD, medical director for the MGH
Chelsea HealthCare Center, recently was awarded the Outstanding Massachusetts
Community Health Center Physician Award by the Massachusetts League of
Community Health Centers (MLCHC) at their annual gala held at the Seaport
Hotel. The award is given to a physician who has worked in a community
health center for at least five years and has demonstrated consistent
support of and devotion to the delivery of community health care services
through his or her clinical practice.
Colleagues at MGH Chelsea fully supported Sterne's nomination and praised
the work he has done at the center. "Dr. Sterne has worked tirelessly
for 25 years to care for the most vulnerable residents of Chelsea,"
said Anne Richmond, director of MGH Community Health Associates, in her
nomination letter. "He also has worked hard to steward MGH Chelsea
into the type of community health center recognized for its commitment
to serving these populations. The staff of MGH Chelsea and I are very
blessed to have him as part of the Chelsea Community Health Team."
