Sweet treats for blood donors

The MGH Blood Donor Center sponsored a make-your-own ice cream sundae event July 1 and 5. Senior attending pharmacists Kelly Barnes, Bob Young and Michelle Chan set an example for fellow MGHers by collectively going as a department to donate blood. All donors also received their choice of two newly-designed summer T-shirts. The event was held to help boost blood donation in the summer months when fewer donations occur.

In addition, the sixth annual MGH vs. BWH Employee Blood Donation Challenge is coming soon — Aug. 22 through Sept. 9. Donors will enjoy free T-shirts, massages, raffles and a pizza party.
