Computer training
workshop
Partners Information Systems will offer summer computer training classes
for both new and experienced users. All classes will be held at the MGH

Senior HealthWISE seminar
MGH
Senior HealthWISE will sponsor "Sleep and Older Adults"
June 28, from 11 am to noon in the Walcott Conference Rooms. John W. Stakes,
MD, of the MGH Neurology and Sleep Disorders Clinic, will be the guest
speaker. This event, for seniors 60 years and older, is free of charge.

Clinical Research Day
The MGH Clinical
Research Program will sponsor MGH Clinical Research Day June 28. Jeff
Drazen, MD, editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, will give the
keynote address "Lessons in Translational Research: Pharmacogenetics
of Asthma and Beyond," at 8:30 am in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. After
Drazen's talk, representatives from three award-winning MGH teams will
present their research projects, followed by a poster session at 10:15
am under the Bulfinch Tent, featuring more than 200 clinical research
projects. From 11:30 am to 1 pm, Nobel Laureate and MGH Trustee Phillip
Sharp, MD, will chair a panel discussion of leaders from industry and
academia about new models for collaboration. Throughout the day, community
education about clinical research will take place in the Main Corridor.

Making a Difference Grant reception
and poster display
The Making a Difference Grant program will host a special reception and
poster display for the 2005 grant recipients June 29, from 3 to 4:30 pm
in the Trustees Room. Applications for the 2006 Grant Program will be

Smoking cessation program
The MGH Quit
Smoking Service will offer an evening smoking cessation program beginning
June 29 at 5:30 pm. This weekly, seven-session group program includes
information about preparing to quit, coping with stress without cigarettes,
preventing weight gain and tips for not smoking again. For more information,

Blood donors needed
The MGH
Blood Donor Center will have a Make-Your-Own Ice Cream Sundae event
July 1 and 5, from 11 am to 4 pm. Donors who donate before 11 am will
receive a coupon to come back for their sundae. All donors also get their
choice of two newly-designed summer T-shirts. For more information, call
