Taking
care of ourselves
Access to reliable and accurate health information sometimes can be a
challenge for patients. At a recent symposium held in the Blum Patient
and Family Learning Center, Judy Norsigian, co-author of the revolutionary
women's health book Our Bodies; Ourselves, and Karen Carlson,
MD, director of the MGH Women's Health Associates and co-author of The
New Harvard Guide to Women's Health, provided tips for how to find
and use reliable women's health information to make the most of a doctor's
visit. The event, which drew nearly 60 people, was sponsored by the Blum
Center, the MGH Women's Health Coordinating Council, the Stoeckle Center
for Primary Care and the Harvard Medical School's Center of Excellence
in Women's Health.
