Hand hygiene champions remind MGHers to use Cal Stat

The 2004 MGH hand hygiene champion of champions — Teresa Hartman, RN, of the Yawkey 8 Cancer Center Outpatient Infusion Unit and honorable mentions Beth Rooney, team leader of Blake 13 and 14, and Brenda Eklund, RN, of Blake 12 — are featured on the latest in a series of hand hygiene posters recently distributed throughout the hospital. The posters remind MGHers about the importance of hand hygiene to help keep patients healthy and prevent the spread of infections.

The STOP (Stop Transmission of Pathogens) Task Force — along with Hartman, Rooney and Eklund — feel strongly about the message of practicing good hand hygiene before and after patient contact by using Cal Stat, the waterless hand disinfectant available throughout the hospital.
