EAP work/life seminar
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will sponsor "Ages and Stages: Understanding Your Child" May 19, from noon to 1 pm in the Thier (formerly Wellman) Conference Room. Anna Muriel, MD, of MGH Psychiatry, and other child specialists will present an overview of the major developmental stages, from infancy through pre-adolescence, and will speak about concerns that parents may have in
negotiating difficulties that may arise during these stages. For more information,

Cancer Center spring network conference
The MGH Cancer Center's Network for Patients and Families will sponsor a spring network conference for cancer patients, survivors and their families May 21, from 11 am to 4:30 pm. The HOPES (Helping Our Patients and Families through Education and Support) program will host a wellness fair and lunch, from 11 am to 1:30 pm in the WACC lobby. Learn about complementary therapies including yoga, healing music and acupuncture. "Re-energize: Manage Fatigue Associated With Cancer" with William Pirl, MD, director of the MGH Cancer-Related Fatigue Clinic, and "Enhance Your Life — Mind, Body and Spirit" with Ann Webster, PhD, director of the Mind Body Cancer Program at the Mind Body Medical Institute, will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Memorial service
A memorial service celebrating the life of John D. Crawford, MD, of MassGeneral Hospital for Children, will be held May 21 at 11 am at Harvard Medical School in the New Research Building Amphitheater, 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur. A reception will

Leadership Academy's book club
The MGH Leadership Academy will hold its first leadership book club June 2, from 4 to 6:30 pm. Jim Noga, chief information officer for the MGH and MGPO, will explore how the lessons from the book Leading at the Edge can be applied to the MGH. This book translates the story of Earnest Shackleton and his team's two-year expedition on the unexplored Antarctic continent to 10 lessons about what it takes to be a great leader. The book is required reading and will be provided prior to the session. To submit a request for enrollment, send e-mail to mghleadershipacademy@partners.org.
